TIP** Do you love a particular mold but it is large or deep which would be very costly to produce out of complete PMC?

Simply make the object 'hollow'. One of the easiest ways is to use Cork Clay and to then make a part mold. Roll out a piece of PMC to the desired thickness and then press into the mold, lay the cork clay mould on the top and finish with another sheet of clay. Your object will be lighter and more cost effective.

Use your moulds to make a perfect cork clay impression, then using PMC Paste, paint up to 10 layers on the object and fire. A great hollow form mould.

RESIN MOULDS

Resins use a catalyst in the curing process. The result equals heat which can react with the silicone, regardless of which silicone is used.  The heat basically drags moisture from the silicone which may reduce the life of the mould. As these moulds are such good value I would not let this deter you if you would like to use it for your Resin work.
